: Using a Mac as FTP server

Hi folks. I should have figured this out a long time ago. Any help appreciated!

I'd like to allow access to a folder on one of my Macs via the internet. I have figured out some of what I need to do, but there are holes in my knowledge. We're behind a router with a Rogers account... and I'm planning on getting Timer capsule when it comes out. Here's what I figured so far:

1) Enable remote login

2) Create a new "sharing account" in the Accounts system preference

3) Forward my Mac's port through my router (never done this before)

4) Do I need a static IP address? Are Rogers dynamic??

Is this the best way to go? All I'd want is for Mac or Windows users to need use of an ftp program.

Any guidance would be great, thanks :)
