Hi,

I'll appreciate any thoughts and opinions on whether the problem I have is normal or should get fixed.

History: Recently, Applecare replaced my LCD screen which had huge clusters of white spots on the screen. Fixed, no more white spots.

Problem: Ever since I got it back, the LCD screen is significantly not as bright as before. This has been proven when comparing it to a Macbook side by side with same monitor calibration. The brightness is really dull and dark.

Weird Problem: When I press the LCD screen, the whole LCD starts to ripple (effect). This struck me as abnormal as I've never seen a whole lcd screen ripple from just lightly touching the screen (I was wiping off some dust and discovered this problem).

thanks!

Ah, you must have got the new Macbook Wave :D

I've never seen the whole screen ripple but I have seen a couple LCD's that had an area that would ripple when touched or as the screen was being moved.

I'd bring it back and get them to have another look at it. It may need ot be replaced again.

Thank you for responding, Digital_Gary. Macbook wave you say? :lmao:

Well, I should have mentioned that I did get a Genius to look at it. She said it could be replaced but it was normal as all LCD screens were different and so would be less bright or would react differently when pressed.

I agree no two screens are alike but the problems I was seeing felt very weird to me.

So I thought it's best to get advice from the smart people on ehmac.ca

Genius :D

That is not normal nor acceptable. They shouldn't have let it go back to you that way.
