: Transfer data from older Mac to Newer

Hi all
Older Mac is 600mhz iMac ...newest is 20" 2.ghz iMac. Want to transfer data
via Migration Assistant. We presume a cable with two 4-pin adapters will do the job but checking to see if we are right.

Also, does anyone know if it's possible to transfer Windows XP to an external hard
drive once it's been installed on the Mac?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

fantastic Maine Coon kitties.

The large FW connector Macs use is called a 6-pin to 6-pin cable. Migration assistant will do a beautiful job of this for you.

Thanks to all for info on 6-pin and Migration assistant. Sorry I'm a little late in saying so.

Now, how do I paste images of the cats you want to see?
