I just got a G3 iMac 350 (thanks Macdoc) for the kids for Christmas. They loved AlphaBaby (http://www.kldickey.addr.com/alphababy/) on our G5, but it doesn't work on OS 9. Does anyone know of anything similer for OS 9? Something that locks them out of everything and pops up photos, shapes and letters and lets them draw.

The kids are 2-1/2 and 1.

Coincidentally -

- I too just upgraded from MacDoc.
- Had a G3 iMac but just donated it to the local school
- Also live in Burlington, and
- Have some OS 9 CD Roms that my grandchildren have outgrown

They won't replace what you have described but there are some very elementary ones appropriate for young children.

If you wish I will PM you with more details and some photos.

Here are some free/shareware apps that our kids liked to play with when they were younger - they may be similar to what you are looking for:

Burloak, I sent you a PM.

Roger and However, those seem to be what I was looking for. The links for Babysmash don't seem to work anymore, but I'll do some hunting.

Thanks so much.

They are not ready for it yet, but keep your eye out for a copy of ClarisWorks/AppleWorks (Name went from one to the other).

There are really intuitive paint and draw modules to this program. There should be a kazillion copies around. If I am not mistaken it came right on the system disks for some time. I think a 3 year old or so could play with this.

As per my signature, I am also looking for OS9 games and educational software for my kids.
