I'm looking at a used iMac with no Applecare and wondering if this model has any known issues???

specs are:
2.16 ghz intel core 2 duo processor
1GB SDRAM
8x superdrive (DVD R+ Dl/DVD +_ RW/CD-RW
20 inch screen widesscreen
built in i-sight camera

Any input appreciated.
Thanks

I own the same model. It is a great computer the LCD is VREY good sharp and clear. I have had no problems with it. the fans can be a little blustery sometimes. You may want to up the ram a bit I haven't yet but would if I were not selling. It will be a big jump from your G5. Oh ya it has been a year since I bought it.

Hope this helps.

so is it worth an extra $350 to just go for the new ALiMac from the refurb store? Looks like the AL has a better video card but slower processor then the white c2d 2.16 ghz

No the white has a better Vid card and a better screen. just the screen can go go for $500. When the screen in the alum is the cheeper TN panel. The alum has a 800 MHz FSB up from 667MHz on the white. The alum has room for 4 GB or ram when the white can hold 3 GB. Where do you get $350 from it is cheeper for the 2 GHZ alum model.

I feel like the Alum mac might be almost worth it for the warranty - but the TN screen really kills the deal on the alum for me.

The white iMac is used and I can get it for $950, the ALiMac in the refurb store is $1250 with tax, so it's $350 difference...

In that case go for the white.
