I have a 1.0.2 iPhone and I was just wondering if I connect it to my MacBook which has OS X Leopard 10.5.1 and iTunes 7.4.2, will it mess up my iPhone. Right now I just plug the phone directly into the wall to charge it because I'm to nervous to plug it in to my MacBook.

Has anyone had any problems or am I just being to paranoid.

Thank You

You will be fine. I kept my phone at 1.0.2 for a long time after I got Leopard. Recently updated to 1.1.1 and still no issues.

The safest thing to do is uncheck the "Automatically check for updates" box in the prefs.

I think you're being paranoid ;)

If you connect your iPhone to iTunes the first time it will offer you to upgrade to 1.1.2 (latest firmware). Just say NO and that's it. Then sync songs, movies or whatever you want...and start enjoying the full potential of your phone

Thanks Guys,

I just connected my iPhone and everything went smoothly. I don't know why I was so paranoid.

Ok, so im not as scarred anymore, but does it matter that this iPhone was first sync'd with a Windows XP SP2 PC Computer? (Using iTunes 7.2)

I want to make sure i get all the answers before I brick my $400.00 Jesus Phone

Thx for the quick responces.

It wont matter at all. Best thing to do before you connect the phone is make sure that you turn off auto updates. Also, when you do connect it, dont click yes when it asks you to update your phone. Other than that there shouldn't be anything to do!

Lol,
I thought the days of people being paranoid about bricking their iPhones were long gone. Anyways, glad everything worked out ok for you.
