Just quit Safari after getting hijacked by PerformanceOptimizer - The most Incredible and effective optimization tool ever made! (http://www.performanceoptimizer.com). It wouldn't let of of my Safari window. First time that ever happened to me. I had to quit Safari to make it go away. A window kept popping up (putting Safari's window to a shrunken window to the top left) telling me something of the sorts that my pc performance can be optimized...da..da..da.

Tried it (I'm brave). It didn't do any hijacking - the site behaved normally. I guess whatever weakness it was exploiting has been patched in the latest Leopard Safari.

Maybe we shouldn't link to it, then? ...

Couldn't agree more! Why get other people infected as well?

I don't believe it is the actual link that took control, simply because I never went to that site. I was actually on CBS News when the little window popped up. When I saw the details, I went directly to the site by typing in the Address Bar. In my post, I typed only part of the address and am surprised to see all of it in my post. Sorry for that. I'm still not sure how that site could have such control when I never went there. By the way, Gerbil, I have the newest Safari.
