I AM NEW TO MAC ,I WAS JUST CURIOUS WHAT IS A BETTER MACHINE IN GENERAL A G4 POWER BOOK OR A G4 i BOOK, I WANT TO RUN A DJ SOFTWARE FROM RANE CALLED SERATO,
NOT IN THE BUDGET FOR A MAC PRO INTEL YET,

Which ever can take more ram would be your best bet, then look at processing power.

PowerBooks also had Audio input jacks, whereas AFAIK iBooks do not. (which can be remedied with something like an iMic from Griffin).

I'd choose whichever one doesn't have the stuck CAPS KEYS. ;)

I would personally go for the Powerbook, if only because of the better audio capabilities (has optical audio if I recall correctly) and backlit keyboard (handy if DJing in a dark area).

Yea, definitely go for the powerbook. It will be more suitable for your needs. You may even think about upgrading the RAM on the powerbook if it is low or you find some lag in the response of the powerbook.

For what it is worth, in all the clubs I've seen the Dj using a laptop, it was always a 12" Powerbook.

Yep the 12" powerbooks were better performers than the 12" iBooks but still had the same small form factor.
