This is not a PCI-X video card it is a PCI Express videocard.

There is a major difference:

Talks about the difference between AGP, PCI, PCI-X and PCI-EXPRESS.

Well, Apple has to give you some reason to buy the next 17" Powerbook - it can't be just for the CPU speed.

And insertclevername is correct that this is a PCI Express card/chip not a PCI-X card/chip. PCI Express appears to be the successor to AGP (it could also replace PCI). Apple hasn't implemented PCI Express on its motherboards yet, but maybe the upcoming G5 or the next Powerbook will.

The desktop version of this PCI Express video card has already been introduced. It's the Radeon X800. So far no Mac version of this card has been annnounced.
