: automated text when creating new folder

Just wondering if there is a way to generate a line of text automatically when creating new folders. For example the date.
I need to write the date every time I make a new folder for my clients. If I could just go command shift N and have a new folder with the date already typed in, I would be a happy boy...

Hmmm... sounds like something that could be hacked. I mean, the system has to put "untitled folder" in there, so there must be a template somewhere that can be modified to insert a string that generates the date...

Or - how about this: assign a folder action to the desktop (possible?) that renames any new folder created with the current date. That might be easier...

TypeIt4Me (http://www.typeit4me.com/) should do the trick, sort of. You can customize key commands to enter various text -- including a date. It might not be exactly what you want to do, but pretty close.
