I was just reading some of the latest articles at Folklore.org, the site that's currently writing the entire story of the original Macintosh and I found this article particularly enlightening:

http://www.folklore.org/StoryView.py?project=Macintosh&story=Thunderscan.txt

Not because it's well written (though it is) or anything, but because when I was a kid we actually had a Thunderscan.

Check it out, and if you haven't already check out the rest of the site, too.

PB, I loved that Thunderscan. It was the latest way of getting graphics into the Mac and, although not good enough for finished art, it did open up entire new ways of delaing with placeholders in PageMaker. It was a major step forward.

Thanks for reminding me of this bit of the past.
