I have helped sway a few comics over from the dark side of Windoze. I have also found that many in my industry use Macs.
Just for interest, here is the list.
Me Daryl Makk (http://www.darylmakk.com/) iBook
Toby Hargrave Toby (http://www.seetobylive.com/)iBook
Pete Zedlacher Pete (http://www.zedlacher.com/) eMac

Tony Krolo Tony (http://www.tonykrolo.com/) G3 tower
Tommy Campbell (also a published writer) TiBookTommy (http://www.deephype.com/review_01.html)
Peter Anthony Peter (http://www.funnybusinesswest.com/yuksontourbios/peteranthony.html)
He is now in T.O.... (his own website soon peteranthony.net will be back up soon).iBook
Heath Milo Heath (http://www.geocities.com/heathmilo/)iBook
Casey Corbin (recent convert...I helped him buy his iBook Casey on Yuks page (http://www.yukyuks.com/comics/ccorbin.html) iBook
Brian Stollery Brian on FBW site (http://www.funnybusinesswest.com/yuksontourbios/brianstollery.html) clamshell iBook. (Soon to upgrade to a new iBook and will have his own website soon).

These are all Canadian comics...which means...you have never heard of us!! ;)
Help make some Canadian stars and check out a few shows. Just remember who you saw! We are not the Yuk Yuks guys or the comics...we have names...just like the bands you go to see.
Did you ever go to the arena to see the music guys play??
We are all using Macs to write out next screenplay, design comedic products, web sites, you name it!!

That's interesting about all you guys using Macs, you can tell comedians are pretty smart guys and girls.

When are you going to play in Toronto ?....I'll drag a few people down to support you.

I went to the local stand up splace here in montreal (Comedy works) a few time in the past. Its a load of fun the first few times but unfortunatly, 2/3 of the comedians there are locals and dont refresh their joke list ofthen enough. But I will go there for sure before the Montreal Fest Just for laught this summer.

2/3 of the comedians there are locals and dont refresh their joke list ofthen enough. Hey Mantat, that is a problem at times...especially in the east it seems. Complain to the management that you are seeing the same stuff, maybe it will get back to the acts and they will work to improve. Montreal has some great comics but many do not tour and as such, their acts remain very regional. The other problem is the money is not the greatest to bring in new acts. One of the reasons I have not done a Montreal club in years. I was there for the JFL festival last year. Had a great time.
When you see a comic that is new and fresh or that gives you a new show each time...let him and the club know!
I have not worked the Comedy Works (Jimbo's room) as I have always gone thru Ernie Butler at the Comedy Nest. I hear they have a great new location. I hope to be there soon.

For humour, read icemakk's location in his sig. I thought it was pretty funny. :D

I love going to comedy locations like Yuk Yuk's etc... and love watching comedians on TV. Don't like it when comics rely too much on "cocka-poo-poo-pee-pee" jokes too much though.

Mr ehamc mayor, thanks for the notice on my sig!!
I am sure you know what movie the rabbit hole/red pill is from?
I shall try and get you tix next time I am out that way!
Cheers

and as for the cockapoopoopeepee stuff, I don't do dic* jokes, i do cleverly worded penial references!! :D

I want to be a Stand-Up Comic. All I need to do is figure out how to be funny...

After all, I can't get by in that profession on looks alone...

Sorry Strongblade, either you are funny or you are not, it is not something you can be taught. You can learn to hone it but...if you are not naturally funny...you have to work for the government.

The problem with many stand-up "comics" is that most of them, unfortunately, just aren't funny. Definitely more misses than hits during the Juste pour Rire fest here....
Attitude can get you so far, but I often can't believe the lack of material; then of course, I find Wolf Blitzer funnier than Leno or Letterman, and Conan IS a joke tongue.gif

Do the Mac comics have a special edge? Must be smarter, somehow ;) Maybe Apple should support the Comedy fest...help make it better for all of us. smile.gif

HJS that is a bold statement

many stand-up "comics" is that most of them, unfortunately, just aren't funny. Definitely more misses than hits during the Juste pour Rire fest here.... Perhaps you have seen to many lack lustre American acts.... I think the Canucks have a better sense of ha ha but don't get the exposure at the festival.
You should keep track of who you thinks IS funny and let them and the venue know.
Wolf Blitzer funny? that is one I have never heard before. tongue.gif
Either I am missing something or you have an odd sense of humor?
As for MAc comics having an edge or being smarter...perhaps. I think we spend less time repairing a windoze machine that we can create better humor. The list I gave are all guys I respect.
Wolf Blitzer funny?? I can die happy...i have heard it all!! ;)
