Is there any way a person can use a wireless router with a dial up connection? When I'm out at my parents house in the country I only have a dial up available and it's a pain to stretch a telephone cord across a hallway to access the net. Any help would be appreciated.

Get an Airport Base Station with a modem in it.

The original Graphite ABS had a modem and then the 2nd version Snow ABS did also.

When I was still on dialup I used my SMC wireless router with an external modem. Here's a previous link describing it from 2004 Old Link (https://www.ehmac.ca/showpost.php?p=85941&postcount=11). The prices in that old link wouldn't apply now. I'm sure that model isn't available new any more, but it should be cheap if you can find one used.

I'm still using the router but I'm on DSL now. The Airport router is probably the best bet if you can find a used one cheap. The SMC might be a second alternative, but you'll need an external modem as well.

Thanks for the info. I guess I'll look around for an old ABS.
