: boot camp won't run!

says I need to update my firmware but I am up to date!

Hardware Overview:

Processor Name: Intel Core Duo

Number Of Processors: 1
Total Number Of Cores: 2
L2 Cache (per processor): 2 MB

Boot ROM Version: MBP11.0044.B02
SMC Version: 1.2f10

and 10.4.8!!!

what do I do?

Firmware updates and system updates are not the same actions.

now it says it can't partition my hard drive because i need to reformat it

Make sure you follow the instructions for BootCamp to the letter.

You CAN seriously hose your system if you don't follow them properly. You DON'T have to format your drive yourself. If you're using OS X on an Intel Mac then all you do is run Bootcamp, it will guide you through and allow you to "live partition" your drive as you go.

Print off the Installation Guide in the post from HowEver. It will be your saving grace. :)
