Can someone please help. I used to watch the newsgroups for Toronto and Ottawa for deals, but appearantly Sympatico doesn't support them anymore. Can someone help?

Can I use a rogers newsgroup? If so, what are the settings.

Rogers shut their newsgroups down a while ago (but even then, if you're a Bell user you wouldn't be able to access them). I use EasyNews, which is a pay service (~$10 USD/month). There are supposedly some free USENET servers out there, but I couldn't find one that had decent newsgroup coverage.

My new isp doesn't support newsgroups now either. Magma (http://www1.magma.ca) uses GigaNews which is great, but my account expires in November. At the point I will be looking at TeraNews (http://www.teranews.com/). It costs $3.95US to set up an account, then it is free. I am going to look them up when I lose my GigaNews access. Looks like they have good coverage.

Since Mr. Rogers deemed it necessary to eliminate them from my service, and still charge me the same monthly fee, I use google to access the newsgroups now.

Good point, I forgot all about Google Groups (http://groups.google.com).
