: One server, two web domains?

Is it possible for an Xserve (running Panther) to host more than one web domains? I want mail, ftp and web calls to two domains to resolve to the same IP, same machine. Intuitively I assume the answer has to be yes, but I'm not sure how to set it up.

Server Admin under "Computers & Services" shows the first domain with slots for FTP, Mail, Web, etc., up and running. There's no obvious way to add a second domain to the list.

What am I missing?

I'm assuming that you will be using Apache.... http config is your friend...

This should get you on the right track...

Click the "+" button....LOL

No seriously though its that easy. What you need to do is have your outside DNS hoster do the following:

For IP address:

Have them add an entry for the following:

Zone: example.com
www IN A
ftp IN A
mail IN A

Zone: db.3.2.1
3.2.1.in-addr.arpa. IN PTR www.example.com.

Zone: example1.com
www IN A
ftp IN A
mail IN A

Once that is done, you literally click the "+" button in each of the required services fields (WWW, mail) and add the domain into the reuired service.

I have an xserve hosting about 14 domain (mail and web) with no issues...
External DNS however is required in order for me to find you. You can host the DNS yourself, but you need at least 2 DNS servers to do this and if you know very little about DNS, I wouldn't recommend this route..
