Is the Western Digital 10,000 rpm Raptor still the ultimate for RAID performance? Cause they've been around for a while...

Who cares how small they are - I just want to talk performance.

What are your goals for performance? RAID 0 rarely outperforms discrete disks in desktop use. Do you have a specific purpose? what machine?

I'm working on a network attached storage server project. I'm testing SATA controllers and I need disks that won't slow me down. One example is a 4-disk RAID5 array, looking for overall performance with a high read:write ratio.
