Can't imagine why, or even why now, but CP24 (http://www.pulse24.com/Business/Top_Story/20060219-001/page.asp) (the 24 hour news sister station to City TV in Toronto) has picked up the rumour that ThinkSecret posted last month about a widescreen version of the iPod. Who knew that the CP24 staff were hyper keen Mac rumour mongers like (some of) the rest of us ... :D

Normally the news they do post on there is negative. Last week they had an article on the Leap-A malware.

I think why they picked up on that rumor is because the iPod is now the gadget to have, and plus with all those fake mock-ups floating around who could not resist writing an article on it. I also don't think they are really keen Mac people, remember the majority of iPod users are Windows users.

There is also the consideration that they do not know how to distinguish between a news source and rumour. Even many infotainment sources know the difference, and since it isn't all that hard for someone with a shred of experience to figure out--well, it's City after all.
