: Superdrive and iDVD

Is it possibe to use iDVD without a Superdrive?

You can use it, just not burn anything if you do not have a system that does not have a DVD burner. However, you could, instead of purchasing a Superdrive and upgrading, just get an external burner!

Are you sure? Unless there's some kind of workaround, I believe iDVD refuses to open unless it detects a superdrive.

won't even let me open it on my non superdrive mac. It says you have to have a superdrive to open it.

I had to use that with my external burner, but if I did not have the burner connected it would not let me launch iDVD.

I wonder what the dif is between our setups? I had my issues probably about 6 months ago. That was also before I got my SuperDrive book, so I am not sure... I wonder if Apple relaxed on the restrictions or what happened.
