: necessary oxford 911 chip in enclosure box?

i have heard that if i want to have fast transfer rates for video to an enclosure box, i should get a box with the oxford 911 chipset. is this true? also, is usb faster than firewire for the transfer and any sugg. of a brand of enclosure box i might buy? i am using it for now to tranfser from my pc to my mac, but i wanna use it in future for video backup. thanks.

Oxford is the most highly recommended chipset, but there are other options that seem to work.

On the Mac, I think you will find that Firewire is faster. Not sure about on the PC.
