I'm trying to get a good case to convince my company to get me a Vectoworks license. Problem is, I know as a fact that layers do not get saved correctly when saving an AutoCAD file from Vectorworks, otherwise I know at least three Vancouver area architects who use Vectorworkks and I want to put a case on how Vectorworks + MacOSX is very doable and in fact more efficient than AutoCAD + Windows for Mechaical Building Systems Engineers.

Probably not many Vectorworks users on ehMac... you'd probably be better off posing your question on a Vectorworks forum, like http://techboard.nemetschek.net/

There are also a number of unofficial Vectorworks forums out there.

I love vectorworks, we learn on it in school for theatre design. I wish i had the money for a copy of it.

Sadly, as much as I love OSX ... we ended up with AutoDesk software here, we ran into too many issues exchanging files with AutoDesk users (large architectural firms that we couldn't afford to not be compatible with).

If this is not a problem for your needs then Vectorworks might be a good solution, but if you are working with a lot of partners you should test some things before committing!
