I just got a refurbished powerbook and need to add 1gb of ram to it. It's a 1.5ghz 12" model. Where can I get Mac ram for cheap? I'm located in ottawa so please don't refer me to a store in Toronto that doesn't have online ordering! The cheapest price I've found is $175.00 USD AT Macsales.com, with shipping and customs it comes out to about $275.00 - $300.00 CDN. I don't want to order from the states though.

Thanks

There are some online Canadian sources of RAM, however many are PC only and don't offer Mac compatibility guarantees. Look for one that guarantees Mac compatibility in writing.

Thanks

Where are you located? I have some ram that I bought from OWC that I can't use.

I wrote a thread about something <a href="https://www.ehmac.ca/showthread.php?t=28804">similar</a>. I deal with <a href="http://www.ottcomputing.com/">Over The Top</a> here in town and have been pretty happy with their service.

Best prices I see anywhere and I have used them several times. Brands by Kingston and Corsair Memory works fine.

I can recommend CanadaRAM in Victoria. I know the people - they are the best. They have a special Mac section. (Indeed, I first knew the boss, Trevor, as one of the mainstays of our Mac user group when I lived in Victoria.)
