Hello

I have gotten a .hfs file and i can't open it. When i double click it Roxio Toast Opens and asks me if i want to burn it. So i tried burning it to see if that would work but it brns a data diasc and the same thing happens.

just a shot in the dark - try this in Terminal, assuming the filename is file.hfs in your home directory:

mkdir mntdir
mount -o loop file.hfs mntdir

Then look at the contents of mntdir

If it works you can unmount it later using:

umount mntdir

BTW, there is a Mac Help & Troubleshooting forum - that is where you should have posted this question.

I have bin told to type
"
mkdir mntdir
mount -o loop file.hfs mntdir"

in the terminal then look in the folder mntdir but the folder is empty.

Duplicate the file and rename it to .dmg, it should mount then.
