I have heard this a number of times during 10.2.x

So I have taken to downloading the Combo and this update was very successful. I have had no problems to document.

I always wait a week to see what the reaction is to any upgrade (on MacFixit, Macintouch etc.). The end result of that is that I often don't install point upgrades and end up having to use the combo undater anyway (I skipped X.2.2, X.2.4 and X.2.5 b/c of this strategy).

The early reports sound like X.2.6 is a winner.

For what it is worth I have never yet had a problem with an incremental updater for OS X (especially X.2.x).

Probably there are a lot more variables involved that just which updater you use.

1st i installed the incremental update from x.2.5 -> x.2.6 and my mac's startup time increased by over 50% (1 min. vs over 90 sec.)

then i installed the combo x.2.6 update and the boot time is back to about 1 min.

timing started at when the grey apple appeared on screen

macspectrum - grey apple? I have no grey apple on my start up screen... I have a cartoon graemlins/ptptptptptpt.gif
So is it suggested to use the combo updater if possible?
