Hi all,

It's been years since I've posted here. I have a 2014 Macbook Air that shuts down when it's not plugged in. I've tried the PRAM reset + SMC reset. The latter makes the computer work on the battery for a day or so, then it goes back to shutting down when not plugged in. Because of that I think it might not be a hardware thing, but some weird glitch otherwise. Battery is in good condition, and has limited cycles. Any suggestions for a fix????

Have you tried a thrid party battery check to see if the battery is really OK?

Maybe see if Coconut Battery gives the same result as your system power profile does?

My 2011 MBP 17-inch is exhibiting the same problem. Replaced the battery twice, still the same. Hardware?

Try reading the "solution" here:

Just might work.

I wanted to take some time to put my 17er through her paces. Not 100% but infinitely better. Thank you!
