I had Wondershare Free YouTube Downloader on my old Mac Mini. Just got a new one and it doesn't seem to know what to do with the videos ... does anybody know if it OS High Sierra works with that particular program at all (including the 'full' version, which costs about $29)?

I am on High Sierra and have used MacX Video Downloader for years. It is not yet upgraded to 64 bit, but the 32 bit version works well in HS. Bonus is that it downloads nearly any video on any site.

I'll look into that, SINC, thanks. Hope I can find some way to salvage the videos I already had.

I have been using ClipGrab for years
https://clipgrab.org/

Works great for me.
Every year or two I send a small donation.

I remember quite a few years back the developer was looking for a certain level of donations to continue working on the software and improve compatibility with more websites - the level of donations he looked for was exceeded in very short order and he took the special request down.
Seems to me a lot of poeople are using that software and are happy with it.

And if for some reason ClipGrab doesn't work, I use the Firefox plug-in Video DownloadHelper
