I transferred home movies to hard drives using iMovie HD, edited some, on my iMac over the years and want to continue doing so on a newer Macbook Air.

Is there a "better" iMovie version that is simple and will run on the latest Mac OS?
HD was very simple to use and I haven't found anything yet that I like as much. I haven't been able to figure out how to install that version of Imovie on a newer laptop, if it's even possible.

Edit. Found this, which so works like the original...

I think iMovie HD was the last of the good versions before it got dumbed downed or over simplified. I used to do a fair bit with iMovie and for what it it was pretty good. I have done a few things in the newer versions, it does get the job done pretty simply still but seems to have the same level of control I had in previous versions, i.e. audio adjustments and seeing the wave form. Might be there and I just missed it with the interface changes.
