Hi

I just bought myself a new (for me) Mac mini. So I want to sell my old iMac (mid 2007). It has the 10.10 operating system on it and it could take the 10.11 os which would be nice to install so the computer would sell better. This computer will not upload the 10.12 os.

From where could I download the 10.11 os not currently available on the Apple website?

Thanks

does it not give an option to update to the latest OS available in the App store?

The max os it will take is 10.11 and not the current 10.12 os

I highly recommend you review this note from Apple Support, to ensure that your Mac is properly "emptied" before passing it on to a new owner, even if you install a new OS.

What to do before you sell or give away your Mac (https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201065)

Apple has not been signing any OS X 10.11.x version since shortly after Sierra was released and it's NOT even available now unless you downloaded it with your Apple ID at some point, then it will be available at the App Store after you signin under the "Purchased" tab.

Or "borrow" a copy from an associate or friend. ;)
