: Wireless Keyboard A1314 chews up batteries

Has anyone found out the reason that this happens. The keyboard suddenly has started chewing up batteries at a very quick pace (approx. 2 days). I have read many posts on various web sites from over the years but to my knowledge no one has pin pointed the problem and solution.

I have monitored the voltage and it drops quite dramatically.

Any "technical suggestions" greatly appreciated.

Thanks

What OS X version are you running and have you installed any new software recently.

PS: NOT a fan or wireless keyboards at all, even when they aren't gobbling up batteries. ;-)

I have not installed any new software and I am running El Capitan. I doubt it is the OS. I have read many such suggestions but I doubt it.

Thanks for the reply.

Considering that keyboard is a third generation and released in October 2009 as model number A1314, I wonder if this would help:

https://support.apple.com/en-ca/HT4019

But it does seem a bit odd that it would just start goofing up now.
