I'm on Telus and anytime I walk in somewhere public, it's a no brainer to get on their wifi: it automatically gets me in without trying.

If anyone is on Fido, do experience the same ease or do you have to sign in or press OK or fiddle around with it?

Considering changing carriers so want tot make sure accessing wifi is as automatic on Telus, who of course are more $$.

I'm using Fido. When the WiFI is free I have to go to WiFi in Settings and choose the network. That's all. If the network is password protected then there are more steps. Once I've logged on the either a free network then subsequent use is automatic.

I have no experience with other providers.

Hope this helps.

Are you asking about Telus-sponsored WiFi, or just general hotspots? Fido does not have similar hotspots, as far as I'm aware.

Your carrier has zero impact on your phone's ability to join a hotspot.
