I use safari - for everything..
except for the 2 websites out there that still use flash, i use chrome..

I believe my chrome is messed up..
each time I use it, within 2 mins i receive a pop up asking that I call an 800 number or update some obscure plug in that I dont use..

is there a way to pave it to go back to default ? or factory reset. and none of the ad medic etc find anything on my computer.

Go and grab and download a copy of Anti-Malware for Mac.app and run it, that used to be the older AdwareMedic.app
https://www.malwarebytes.org/antimalware/mac/

I believe it can and will cleanup other browsers other than Safari… or, is that the one app you did run without success…???

Already ran it. No faults found.
I hate anything Google. It's funny the ransom is only happening in chrome.
It all started when I was testing cravetv.ca
It only works with chrome

My firewall blocks all dangerous ads etc and spyware/ pop ups
But i had to write a scprit for cravetv. Because it requires google ware to load
What a scam /joke. The site requires
www.googleadservices.com/pagead/conversion_async
So I wrote that as an exception in my firewall for cravetv and only google chrome
Has the problem - so I deleted the exception but chrome still does it.
