I can get my email from my ISP ([email protected]) through Mail.

I can get my email from .Mac ([email protected]) through Mail.

How can I get my email from yahoo.com, hotmail.com, .etc through Apple's Mail application?

I know with Yahoo some people can use POP to download their mail. My main email address I can't access normally while I am here in the States (Shaw), and don't want to use WebMail, so with my free Yahoo.ca email account I am able to set up POP Access and forward all my mail.

With Yahoo, check the Mail options as I've seen some accounts charge $29.95 a year for POP access while others like mine are free. (Does this come from me having this account before Yahoo bought GeoCities?)

Also for Hotmail, there is the HTTP Plug-in available on VersionTracker or MacUpdate you can use. You can use it to access your Hotmail mail. It isn't perfect but works.
httpmail plugin 1.35 (http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/18189)

Yahoo stopped offering free pop3 mail access more than a year ago. You now need to pay for that service, but the webmail remains free.

There are still some free email service providers that allow pop3 and webmail. You need pop3 service in order to get your mail via an email app like Mail.

LowendMac usually keeps a listing of free email service providers that are Mac compatible.

I can't remember if Yahoo still allows you to do mail forwarding. If so, you could forward your Yahoo mail to your .Mac mail account so you could read it in Mail.
