I have a little iBook that is sad. It seems that after a clean install, it booted up fine. But the next time it was turned off, it won't start up again. Actually it will start up but the screen doesn't come on nor the light. But, the sound keys seem to work and the CD/DVD opens up no prob.

Then it started up again and the mouse was frozen. Second time the screen just showed a grey apple.....HELP!

Thanks for the tips guys...

The iBook is a G3 iBook 14" 600 Mhz "Snow" with combo drive. It's got 256 MB RAM, 8 MB VRAM, 20 GB HD. Running Jaguar. Just did clean install of Jaguar 1 day before problems started. Ripped a couple CD's, watched a few QuickTime movies, etc. No problems! Then, poof! Turned it off then back on and it sounds like it starts up, volume keys work, optical drive opens, but screen does not come on and lights do not come on.

Oh, also cleaned keyboard before problems as well...

Anybody help?

But...but....it's not even the 32 VRAM version - I bought it in 2002 - April. <sniff> I think this is exactly what is happening....
