: iPhone 4S reception

Oct 19th, 2012, 10:07 AM
Just gave my wife a call on my new iPhone 4S and she told me I sounded terrible. I then called her on my other work cell phone and she said it was much better. I do have my iPhone in a Griffin Survivor case but I'm concerned about the reception. Has anyone else with an iPhone 4/4S had any negative feedback from those you may have called? During the call to my wife I did see that I had 3 bars so cell accessibility was no issue. I suppose I can try it without the case.

I've never had a sound quality issue on my 4S, even on 3 bars. (or lower).

Try taking the case off, and report back.

If not try Apple?

take it out of the case and test it. It has happened to few people I know.

Could have been some odd network issue. Are both cell phones on the same network?

I the issue is reoccurring then I'd go to Apple even if it was out of warranty. If its not reoccurring then I'd blame it on the network.

Took the case off and she said it sounded great. Put it back in the case and sounded great again. As you said, maybe a network issue.

i've had the same issue with my 4s. case on/case off. Sometimes quality is fine, other times terrible, even to the point where it drops the call.

i made an appointment @ an apple store tonight. I'll see what they have to say.
