Question What executable extension do Games on Mac use?

So lemme start by saying i'm a windows user, and am currently developing an app
that needs to work both for Windows and Mac.

On windows all games run of a .exe file to start (executable)

I was wondering if there is a similar extension used on the mac for all games.
I know there is a .app extension used to execute the applications but i'm not sure if this applies to ALL games on the Mac.

Thanks!
