I name my Macs with their model (ie MacBook, iMac, Power7300, Centris610) and their boot disk according to the system version (ie System 10.6, System 10.4, System 9.2, System 7.5)

Quite boring, but works for me.

I use Roman emperors for internal drives, pantheon for my home folder, Roman gods/mythological characters for external drives and flash drives and I use names of space programs as my wireless networks (Mariner, Gemini etc...)

screature, where were you born? I live just across the water from Annapolis Royal, in Granville Ferry.
I was an Airforce brat and my Dad was stationed in Greenwood at the time so I was born in Middleton.

But the family farm (about 200 acres, which has been in the family since the late 1700s) is in Maitland Bridge which begins as you cross the Mersey river just north of the main entrance to Kejimkujik National Park on Hwy 8. The family farm is south of the main entrance to the park.

That's great. Still chuckling here.

Maybe she'd like a companion video to go with that:
YouTube - ‪We are sinking! (with English subtitles)‬‏

Names I've used on my Macs:

PowerBook, iMac, MacPro, MBP. (iMac has been used more than once)

Past names of my Airport devices:
Base Station, Time Capsule, Bedroom Airport, Basement Airport.

Bet you can't guess what each of them were. ;-)

It keeps things simple.
