Apple Airport Extreme Base Station Model M8799LL/A question
Greetings friends,
I have a chance to acquire an older Airport Extreme Base Station, Model M8799LL/A for cheap ($20). This is the model that has the dial up modem built in.
A pair of questions before I grab it.
1. Will the unit work as a wireless access point if I hard wire it straight into my home network? I already have a Linksys WRT54G wireless router and a WAP54G access point that is hard wired, both using the same SSID. Could I then use the same SSID on the Airport?
2. If I acquire a second Airport Extreme, can I use the second extreme to wirelessly 'extend' the network and specifically 'bridge' it so I can use the secodn extreme for the the USB printing option? Would it have to be one of the older b/g Airport's or would one of the newer a/b/g/n Airport's work for this as well? I take it that when I eventually go and get the newer Airport, I could actually swap it around and make the new MC340LL/A model act as an access point and the M8799LL/A for the bridge...
Thanks for the response!
