Canada #5 worldwide in Most Mac Marketshare

Interestingly, Switzerland is number one and Luxembourg is number two (U.S. is #3).

Iceland is #4 ahead of us, but Canada is #5!

That's pretty cool to see. I'm surprised to see Asia is so low. I thought Mac's were big in Japan & Taiwan.

Remember this is marketshare, not size of market. The results are not surprising.

I know, but that is what surprises me. I though Mac's were more popular in Asia.

Apple used to have an edge over PC's in a number of foreign markets thanks to their superior font support, but over time Windows caught up and then Apple had a nuclear meltdown tempter-tantrum over gray market macs and wiped themselves out in certain markets by raising prices to discourage unauthorized imports back to the west.

This represented a ridiculously small number of machines in the grand scheme of things but they deemed it a worthy endeavor after Tesco in the UK began selling iMac's for 100 less than MSRP and a school board in Texas bought hundreds of Power Macs intended for sale in Latin America.
