Please Identify these Short Cables? For a Printer?

Could someone please identify these small cables I found for me?

I have 2 and they are both exactly the same.
I would assume they are for a printer??
But if so, why so short?

TIA

Sorry, but I am not the best photographer

or, rather, I cant seem to get close up photos clear enough, even though my camera is a 12.1megapixel?
They are always blurry, as you can see here.......

I am guessing they are worthless but if i dont need them and someone does, let me know and i can send them to you....

They look like adapter cables to drive a monitor from a Mac Mini to me.

Is that the same then as SINC is saying the might be, to drive the monitor from a Mac Mini?

Its fine for I dont use either, a Mac Mini or a printer but I did sell a friends old Mac Mini recently for him and its possible i didnt include all the proper cables

Perhaps this is a silly question but if they are to drive the monitor from a Mac Mini, wouldn't then need to be quite a bit longer to reach the two?

I said they were adapter cables. A monitor comes with a long cable. The adaptor is short just to complete the circuit between the Mini and the long monitor cable.

Ok, got it.
I am afraid the names of cables dont mean anything to me but I do now recall that yes there is such a short cable needed.

Ok, so now I know what they are!

Thank you very much both of you.

Problem solved.
I haven't any use for them but if anyone does, let me know and they are yours....

I had a 15" macbook pro with DVI out that would use this adapter for a VGA monitor.

As SINC already stated it is only an adapter to change the DVI output of a computer to the VGA input of a monitor, the monitor cable would be used for the extra distance between the two.

Glad the descriptions worked.

Thanks.
Must say, that does seem a teeny bit high I would have thought for such cables.

Normally I wouldn't have any idea what any of that meant but I am a visual person and followed it from one of the above descriptions being able to picture similar ones I have used in the past and, of course, I should have realized for in the same matter, these cords are too short to have attached a printer

In addition to Mac Mini's they were also included with most 15" and 17" Powerbooks and some of the older MacBook Pros...
