Office 2011

Well, I feel compelled based on my normal m$ft bashing to write that so far so good with this release of office!

I like what i see!

So happy that they did away with the floating pallet BS!

apps load fast and look good.

now, do i actually want to pay for it though...?

From the web videos I saw, it looks like it's gonna be pretty decent.

Is it released already? Or a beta version?

One thing I would like to see come with '11 is the ability to edit powerpoint presentations on the fly. I heard from someone that it was a feature with Office 11, any truth to that? I can do this in XP with no problem and is the main reason I use Powerpoint on PC. Matter of fact, would love to have this ability in Keynote, then I could ditch powerpoint all together.

What do you mean by "on the fly"? While in the middle of a presentation?

If you are a Volume License Customer of Microsoft it is available for download now. I have been using it for the last week at work and it seems like a nice release, we are also running Office 2010 on some of our Windows boxes and I must say Office 2010 and Office 2011 have interfaces that are very similar.

It is nice to see Outlook back on the mac

I've been using this as well the past week, and it's a very nice improvement over Office 2008. I've been wanting to use Outlook, however, it does not add my MobileMe Folders, nor does it sync my calendar. Has anyone been succesful in fully using MobileMe with Outlook 2011?

Glad to hear it. I'm about to bail on iWork which I've been really trying to like for 2 years now. I'm afraid it's a Microsoft world for office suites and my using iWork paints me into a corner sometimes.

I do a fair bit of powerpoint for our church services. They don't always follow the order, they can jump around, or I will find some error that needs correcting before a slide comes up (the errors are rare). I am also just accustomed to being able to see my entire presentation, scroll through it all so I know what is all coming without the need for print outs and with much more detail then just whats coming up next. I would love this feature in Keynote, but I am not holding my breath for it.

I'm really interested in the startup speed of MS 2011 apps. Office 2008 was a real bust in that department; apps load much slower than they did in the 2004 version.
