Question Confused about getting an iPad or iMac for my father, a late father's day gift.

I am stuck on deciding whether to get an iPad for my father or an iMac as a gift for fathers day. yes i know it has passed, but I told him he would get something soon.
He, inside, wants both, i can tell. But i am unsure about what to get him because i do not know what he will use more or anything.
So i am basically going to all of you for help. To help me decide what to get him. Basically im going to see which product gets more interest in this thread.
Thanks for all the people that help me out!

Too vague. What does he want to use it for?

i dont know, anything aha.
he just wants it. because others have them. imac he would probably connect to the house sound system and have all of our music/photos/videos and stuff on it and ipad he would do the same thing so they are both basically going to be toys no matter which one i get him. haha. so its a tough choice for me.

I'd buy him the real computer, the iMac. It will do so many more things.

I agree with SINC. If money isn't an issue.. an iMac would serve a greater many purposes. Although, an iPad would be a pretty killer gift too!

Get him the iMac. The iPad will be his Christmas or his birthday.

Agreed. Get the iMac first...you have work to do to get the content in that world first...then get the iPad to consume it.

Yep what Andrew says above ... and iPad alone without a computer to sync to has some serious limitations too :/

Very true, if you do not own a computer, an iPad is very limited.
