Opinion on Mac Mini used as Apple TV on large LCD TV

I have a Mac mini G4 1.5 (OSX 10.5.8) with 1G ram (max) & Ati Radeon 9200 64mb video card wanting to use as an Apple TV.

My question is will this old G4 Mini be able to handle a large 60" LCD TV?
Will the videos/ DVD / itunes QT movies play smoothly?

Any one here have hands on experience with Mac Mini G4 used as Apple TV, specifically on large (42" plus) LCD TVs.
Care to share your experience?

All voices are welcome.
Much appreciated.

depends on if you're looking for 1080p playback. I'm not sure about a g4 and a 64mb vid card being able to handle it.
according to Apple - QuickTime - QuickTime Player - Tech Specs you'd want one of the new mini's or an actual apple tv to do what you want to.
720p is going to push the limits, but the SD stuff should be fine.

I'm going to trade my mom my 20" iMac for the mini solo 1.5 I gave her a while back. but even that won't do h.264 1080p...

i had a mini ppc 1.5ghz which i connected to a 50" lcd i used it as a media player and other than the fact it cant go 1080p its considerably a decent player.

i didnt really notice any slowdown with dvd movies or files even divx are ok
