Hi Sean,

You still haven't told us what you're studying in school as a major this August(?) [I thought college starts 1st week of Sept]?

As a former PC user, I still use them for work here in Toronto - so I've loaded up Win7/WinXP in Parallels. This not only keeps my skills with Windows sharp, but its teaching me more about virtualization each day I play around with it. This'll also help your investment in Photoshop in case you get the time and patience to fiddle with it more.

Codecs: Perian (freeware, but donate). Think of this as VLC codecs for QuickTime (WMV doesn't work though .
Transmission: This is a slim bittorent for Mac OS X.
Themes: for SL I'm STILL trying to figure this one out.
iSTAT: great menu bar plugin for sensors on your MBP!!

As someone suggested learn the functions & features of OS X first - I'll bet you'll LOVE Expose & Spaces and wonder what the HELL was Microsoft thinking with Win7 omitting either in their own fashion.

The power reduction will definately help you should you move out and have to pay rent+hydro (small thought but often overlooked).

@ CubaMark, I think I'll take a gander at those links you've proposed.

PS Sean: Your FIRST order of business for 1st week will be keystrokes! you'll need to learn them all. Also March 31st - April 7th for shipping is an estimate. You must've forgotten April 1st was Thursday, while Friday to Monday April 5th is Good Friday & Easter . So 31st, 6th, and 7th actually ARE 3 business days. Enjoy the wonderful weather.

I am going for Aircraft Maintenance - Avionics. Its a very long program and to stuff it within a year, they start earlier. So I start school August 16th at Canadore College, North Bay. If nobody knows what Avionics is, theirs maintenance which is structural and then Avionics is interior, of wiring and such. Its considered a trade, so when I come out I will become an Apprentice for 3 years until I can acquire my Air Canada certificate to work on planes for major companies.

& When you talk about keystrokes, your talking about shortcuts right? I never really used them on PC so it'll take time. ALSO, i've never used Vista or 7. I've only ever used Windows XP. So suck it Microsoft :P

Good luck with your studies Davis, sounds like a fascinating field. As for keyboard short cuts... learn them well and they become your best friend and save you a ton of time over time.
