Airport Express Music Setup

I was hoping anyone with an airport express could explain how the music function works?

I have a set of Logitech Z5500s in my room, will the airport express work for ANY speakers or are there only certain ones that are compatible?

Any powered speakers that you plug into your Airport Express, will work fine.

You can even plug a stereo into your AE and that will work too.

You just need a wire that runs from your speakers' input, to the Airport Express miniplug jack.

"Miniplug" is also called "Eighth inch".

You will love your new, room-filling sound!

Any speaker set with a standard audio minijack will work fine. I have some Bose computer speakers hooked up to mine. Works great.

Awesome thanks, is it a pain to set up?

Also how good is the device as a wireless router compared to a linksys WRT54G?

I will assume your Airport Express is already set up.

When you want to play music from iTunes, select the speaker option(s) from the drop-down menu located at the bottom, near-Right of the iTunes window.
Your Airport name will appear in that drop-down menu.

You can select more than one speaker option and your music will play from all speakers selected.

Fun!

(Sorry, can't help you with the routers comparison.)

You will be happy to know that both the Airport Express and your new speakers will connect via Optical (Toslink) connection as well. You just need an Optical Mini jack, which can be picked up at most audio equipment stores.

Completely digital connection, FTW!
