What do you think of this:

I understand that you can still purchase a DOS shell and then add a Windows OS. Is this true? Will it run on anyting else than a G5? How do you do it?

I have a paid-for standalone copy of XP Pro (first release) which is already installed on my PC. What will happen when the product tries to register? What happens regarding service packs? Is it worth the hastle?

So many questions, so little time!

Actually VPC wont install on a G5, but anything else will work.

And yes, the process of installing the Windows OS is the same as on a real PC.

Slight correction: Virtual PC won't run on a G5, (yet). VPC 7.0 is supposed to be out soon and that has been optimized for G5s

What OS you plan to install will have a lot to do with it too. I have installed Win98, win2k and Windows XP.

Of the three Win2k works the best. No matter which one you choose the memory requirements are steep. I did not have any luck with less then 768 megs of RAM.
