Lightroom vs Aperture

Anyone one use either of these apps extensively? I have been using the Lightroom Beta and I like it. I have only briefly played with Aperture though. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks.

I have not used lightroom, but have Aperture on my Dual 2ghz G5, with 1.5 gig of ram, and it feels a bit sluggish at times scrolling through the pictures. I have about 10,000 pictures in it. I guess its needs alot of processor power to run.

whoa. 10,000
Hmm. My buddy is on a iMac G5 and says he has not had any real slow downs, however, I don't think he keeps 10,000 active images on it.

I have been playing on my friend's Aperture this morning (that's sounds so wrong for some reason) hehehe...anyways, I loaded in about 7,000 pictures....Lightroom feels MUCH faster. Well play more and post more of my findings...

aperture runs great on my dual 2.7, never bogs down that i have noticed.

i had tried lightroom on my mini and it was horrendous, but i havent tried it on the dual g5 yet. i am going to play with lightroom when i get home.

I should mention, that I have dual monitors, sharing a 128 mb video card, so really aperture is only getting 64mb to use. I am sure it would work much better if I disconnected the second monitor. I do that when I use motion, and it works way better.
