World Wide Express

We have all discussed the horror stories of ordering from the US and having UPS add mega dollars for custom clearances.

There is some evidence that FedEX overnight does not have these clearance charges

What do ehMac members know about World Wide Express ?

It appears to be DHL service which serves the world

Are there custom clearance charges like UPS

On a recent shipment from SmallDog I was quoted $45 dollars by World Wide (DHL) and 34 dollars for USPS which we all know has a $5 clearance + PST & GST

Yes USPS is 7 to 10 days and provides NO TRACKING service but reasonable clearance charges

Anybody know what World Wide (DHL) would charge

Google on World Wide also brought up UPS under the same name so that is scary to say the least

Input any one

UPS Epedited is another good method. You will definately pay taxes but other than that, the shipping charge includes brokerage. I have purchased gear from BHPHOTO in the US and they ship via UPS Expedited.

i think DHL express has brokerage fees built in, so you will just pay PST+GST

Try calling DHL's customer service.

Get the definitive answer direct from the courier company.

A good option is USPostal Service Global Express or EMS service. It is trackable, 3 - 6 days, and is cleared by Canada Post so you don;t have exorbitant brokerage charges.

Some shippers refuse to use it, however, because they have to send an employee to the post office with the package, whereas UPS FedEx or DHL will pick up.
