Hi everyone,

I have just tested my MDD G4 867 DP 2gig ram, running Panther 10.3.9 and Tiger 10.4.4, on XBench.

Interested ???

A week ago, I upgraded to Tiger 10.4.4 from Panther 10.3.9, and reported a good speed increase in the CPU, so ! to satisfy my curiosity, I did the XBench test, to see the results.
Here is how it started.
I had a corrupt BTree something today, of witch I could not fix, and had to reinstall the whole nine yards, system software and applications from scratch, so I figured that while I am at it wasting my time, why not install Panther first, test it out, it only take a minute really, then upgrade to Tiger and retest it again, and I did just that.
I started this afternoon at around 2:30 pm ( not buy choice  ), I needed my CPU running by tomorrow morning, or should I say this morning lol, and I have just finished doing the excise as of 1:16 am , hoof ! what an exercise.
I need a beer ! ! ! a kick in the head, and some Tylenol's all mixed together.

Here are overall score and test results
Panther's 10.3.9 overall score : 33.76 :)
Tiger's 10.4.4 overall score : 40.91 :D
( see the details below )
I have not yet had the opportunity to test each sotware I use in dept, QuarkXpress, Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver and so on, but as soon as I do, I will post the results.

Here are the detailed results of my tests :

Any comment ???

This was a long long day, and tomorrow will come soon enough, 5:30am :yikes: here I come XX) or maybe not.

Regards,
Denis

PS : If you wonder why it took so long, I had to get all my files from my back up, and place them where they belong, one at a time, because my back up also had a Btree something corrupt.
Can any one tell me where I can get my address book files from, I keep digging, but can not find them.

Very cool results thanks for posting ... glad to see there's a performance benefit with Tiger.

I usually export my address book vcards and then drop them in the new install - works perfectly ...
