Q. Do bluetooth headsets work with iChat

I have a bluetooth capable phone and was thinking of getting a bluetooth headset. I was just wondering if it would work with Mac apps like iChat or even Skype?

Thanks

Yes and Yes. They work with CoreAudio, which in turn works with about any Mac app that's written with OSX frameworks (iChat and Skype both work fine with mine).

One word of caution if you are using a USB bluetooth adapter. Only one of the DLink USB adapters work with headsets.

Follow up Question

Any recommendations for a bluetooth headset - Computer Factory Outlet always seems to have them on sale for about 29.99 and then other store sell them for up to 15. There is a Logitech one on sale at staples for 50.

Thanks

The Logitech ones are awesome, they have the windblock technology, if you ever used Bluetooth headsets before for some reason the pick up a lot of wind noise, I found this out when I was trying to talk to a friend while rollerblading, she noticed a lot of wind noise from my side. I reluctantly stopped to continue the conversation. :P
