Predictions for New iBook and Shuffle

So guys, I have a list of realistic predictions of the new iBook and shuffle.

I think the new iBook will get launched in January at that annual mac expo. I think the ibook and shuffle will come in two colours: black and white. Apple could ditch the "titanium" look of their laptops and then add a thin clear glass layer (like they are doing now with the nanos and the new ipods to create the "glossy glass" look) ontop of the surface of the ibooks and shuffles (ofcourse they wouldn't put it ontop of the keyboard, screen, and mousepad of the ibook).

I think the new iBooks will not be widescreen. It just seems like a widescreen would be good for the Powerbooks, so i dunno, perhaps they will use widescreen on the Powerbooks.

I also think that the screen sizes (12 inch, 14 inch, etc) will remain the same on the ibooks.

I think that there will be a major processor speed change, whether Apple launches intel inside the iBooks in January or not. It has been ages since the last iBook update and I can't see Apple not upgrading the processor speed substantially more. expect atleast 2GHZ for the new 12 inch iBook.

As for the shuffles, I think the size will remain the same and that there will be no screen.

For all I know, my prodictions could be dead wrong, but one thing is for sure: There are going to be major changes to the iBook.

The iBooks scratch enough as is, never mind building them like the nanos which scratch even more.....bad idea.

my feeling is that the intel move+ the iBook line will let apple offer many (up to four) configurations in a consumer portable. No doubt, they need to compete in the $700 range so there could be a Mac Mini-like iBook model (like the 1.2 revision of the ibook, but w/o bluetooth and firewire)
a 2 Ghz 12" (or 13.1" widescreen)(with a 5400 rpm drive, please!) would be most welcome in my world. I think they will stay with the white look for at least the Rev. A intel books.

Rumors are that the new shuffles will be black, smaller with a grip.

Is it appropriate? LOL. There's nothing wrong with predictions though

iBooks were updated in September. Does that classify as "ages"?

I still can't see Apple replacing the iBook before the Powerbook. Particularly before they update the 12" PB. There have been rumours of the 12" PB disappearing, but it is a top seller in the PB line.

If they update the iBook to a Yonah intel chip it will out gun all of the powerbooks. Especially when you consider the bus speed difference available. While the rumours are decent, they don't make sense from this perspective.

Perhaps Apple will update the entire portable line at once. That would make some sense but would add up to a huge rollout.

iPod mini was the top seller in the line too and still got replaced. Apple likes to surprise us

From what I've heard, I wouldn't be surprised if none of the Apple portables are updated in January. Maybe they will just debut the Intel Mini in January and hold off a few months on releasing more Intel macs. From what I gathered when Jobs made the initial announcement, is that it will take quite about a year or so to have all the Apple computers shipping with Intel chips.

You know what? On second thought perhaps Apple will discontinue the shuffles. I mean seriously when was the last time you saw someone walking on the street with a shuffle. I've seen a ton of old 20gig non-colour ipods and minis on people walking on the streets, but no shuffles. I think the nano and the video ipod is enough. And ofcourse if the ibook gets updated with intle before the pb then the ibooks will have a faster processor. I can't see apple switching the ibook to intel without upgrading the procceessor speed.
